VIDEO: I think I’m turning Japanese
December 14th, 2009 Posted in Audi, Honda, MINI, Mazda, Random videos, RenaultIf you’re not familiar with the work of Japanese magazine crew Best Motoring you’re about to see the hi jinx they get up to. They set to the track with a hero of hot hatches for a three lap shootout. In starting order, the cars appearing are, MINI Cooper S, Mazda3 MPS, Renaultsport Megane 225, Audi S3 and Honda Civic Type R.
Sure, this test doesn’t produce the most subjective of results, but it sure looks like the guys had had fun trying. Now, if only I was turning Japanese I would understand what all the in car banter was about.

I’m surprised the MPS wasn’t all over the Mini. I reckon Qsqar was driving the Honda with the amount of revs at the end haha

Yeah, the MPS displayed chronic understeer as well. Not sure that can be solely blamed on the driver, either.

The best measure of relative speed at the track are probably the time attack figures at the end which show the Honda as the quickest and MINI the slowest. Note the S3 is a DSG and the MINI an auto…
