Audi RS5 leaked images

Audi RS5 brochure

Following the news the Audi RS5 will be released at the Geneva Motor Show comes these leaked images from a forthcoming sales brochure. There’s 28 images in all, but not a lot of written detail is given.

There are no shots of the engine bay, but we’re still expecting to see a normally aspirated V8 under the bonnet to be badged as a 4.2 FSI HDZ. Peak power from the high-rev concept engine should be around the 330kW (450PS) mark. Looking at one of the pics below redline starts around 8200rpm, and it looks like you may be able to extend past that a little. Maybe?

You can see that there will be three choices for seating and four alloy wheel designs to choose from. As expected there is no manual gearbox shown, so it will be S tronic only for now. Hopefully a 6-speed manual transmission is released later at a later date. It would also seem apparent that Audi’s familiar flat bottomed steering wheel is not standard equipment, with all interior shots showing a conventionally shaped wheel. This is offset by the fact it can be optioned in alcantara, along with the S tronic shifter.

So, for now, just feast your eyes on these images and let your excitement build in anticipation for official details to be announced soon. Make sure you click on the pics below to load the larger 1460px sizing.

UPDATE 23 Feb: Official details and images have now been released by Audi.

@Njave the images first surfaced on the TeamSpeed forums, but I was probably one of the first to get them on a blog and spread the word.

I also just added a new para about the engine, based on information already given in previous AUSmotive articles.

Shite. Expensive! Didn’t realise the RS4 was that much!

Going by the pics it looks like the spoiler is retractable? That’s one thing lacking that irks me about the TTRS.

This has an Aston DBS feel to it. Taking a sleek and sexy coupe and injecting it with steroids. I think it looks like a proper hot rod, and will do what I can to get my hands on one!

The redline goes to 8250 RPM, exactly the same as the RS4 and R8.

If it does make 450 odd hp then I rekon its probably going to end up in the R8 too.

God its going to be costly though, especially here in Aus. Hopefully it depreciates like hell and goes below the 100k mark in about 3 years time.

Audi released some Tech-Infos about it:

– 4.2-V8-FSI-Engine
– 450 HP
– 0-100 km/h in 4.6 sec
– Price (in Germany) from about 77.700 Euros

[…] Leaked: Brochure Images Of A Yet Unreleased Audi RS5 The Geneva Auto Show is not due to happen for another week, but it’s the weeks before the show that prove to be the most exciting as this is when sneak peaks and leaked images are more likely to make it to the world wide web. And the latest to make it to the web is Audi’s Quattro GmbH new uber-model – the Audi RS5. Apparently based on the same B8 platform as the departed RS4, the RS5 is tasked with taking performance to newer heights but how high exactly is not yet known. We don’t even now what will be providing it with the power to do so but we’re guessing it’s safe to assume that power will be somewhere in between the 420hp of the RS4 and the 571hp of the current RS6. Audi does have a big engine at it’s disposal, the V10 from the R8 and Lamborghini Gallardo but this is not inline with Audi’s new philosophy of downsizing engines, even so the V10 may not even fit in the engine compartment of the RS5. So we’re guessing a turbo or supercharged version of the current 4.2-liter V8 engine that powers the current S5. Whatever it is, we will have to wait a few more days for official news on this new uber-Audi. Source: AUSmotive […]

Couple days ago I saw an rs5 in Brooklyn, New York. Its sound dropped my jaw on the floor )))). Chased the guy all way down to his house to have a proper look at the car ))
