A genuine supercar experience

Audi R8 Spyder

The Audi R8 Spyder—who could say no to that 525hp V10 sitting behind your ears? Well, you can see for yourself after the break that the chaps at Evo magazine would be more than willing to join the queue for the roofless R8.

Now, as most readers will know, Evo sets a very high standard for their reviews. They are generally acknowledged as providing some of the better reviews in the motoring landscape. That being the case, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments section below on how you think the opportunity to review the R8 Spyder was handled.

The first 30 seconds showed the roof closing.

The next 60 seconds was monologue provided by the Audi marketing dept. and far from balanced commentary or opinion.

From approx. 1:30 to 3:30 was spent explaining the ambient temperature, the function of the roof, the closing speed of the roof, the engine sound with the roof/up/down…

*I am seriously questioning if this is a review or an advertisement(?), was the Transformers reference /just a mention/ or was it a plug? Does the French lady mentioned exist? (my tinfoil hat firmly in place)

…This was then followed by 30 seconds of flattering panning/tracking shots… throttle squeeze off apex and such, but NOT A SINGLE power-slide! (?)

The final 45 seconds was another statement straight from the Audi marketing dept., closing the deal is all important, eh?

I am disappoint Evo Magazine.
