Pure handling delight

“Pure handling delight”, that’s the claim being made by Subaru in this promo clip for the BRZ. They also say the “BRZ is a fun sports car that any driver can enjoy driving with peace of mind.”

Those chasing big horsepower will have to wait until the countless aftermarket tuners do their thing. For now, Subaru are giving you 200hp and a bit over 1200kg to play with.

Will Nick Senior and his mates be foolish enough to deny Australians the chance to join in the Toybaru fun?

After watching this video.. i think that Toyota and Subaru have hit the mark for something special. This will be like how Mazda did with the mx5 for small sports convertibles. Lets see in three years time what the evolution will be like for these brother and sister.

A touch of lotus elise character there…

..*cough*…RX-8 😀

After looking at some of the images, videos and specs, I can’t help but wonder why Mazda doesn’t dump the rotary and fit the 2L turbo engine from the 3MPS in a RWD config into the RX-8. Such a car would eat the Toybaru’s lunch!

I think you will see Mazda releasing their RX-7 into this rejuvenated segment soon! Oh and surely Subaru would be turbocharging for the STI version. Oh yeah!

I’d like to get the producer of that video and smack him around the chops for so many partially framed pics. I hate it when “art” gets in the way of information. Damn hippies.

I must admit more sideways would have been good.

@WAY I have read that the BRZ STi wasn’t going to be turbocharged, but that may have been rumour only.
