VIDEO: The amazing self-healing engine

If you don’t mind getting your hands dirty and have a weekend messing about with a cruddy old car coming up then this video will provide you with all the DIY inspiration you need.

Featuring a Triumph Spitfire engine rebuild, captured by still photography, the man behind the spanners proved he’s equally adept behind a computer as well. This animated YouTube masterpiece is the result. Enjoy!

[Thanks to Tim for the tip]

Awesome! And that stop-motion photography would have made the build three times as long! haha

I have worked on lots of those motors over my lifetime. In my youth I worked on Triumph Heralds, Spitfires and later GT6’s and Vitesses. It is interesting to see all of that work compressed into a couple of minutes.

The really scary bit… I can recognise most of the left over bits and where they belong (and can assure that was a smaller pile of left overs than I had from most rebuilds).
