VW rules out F1 introduction (again)

2012 Hungarian Grand Prix

You can’t have a Volkswagen is interested in F1 story without an official denial soon after the rumour emerges. You’ll recall the latest gossip suggested Volkswagen and Sauber were in discussions with a view to forming a partnership in 2014 or 2015.

We’re surprised it’s taken so long for the “we know nothing” party line to come out of VW HQ. This time it’s Stefan Moser, marketing and communication boss, who has been told to spoil the fun.

Speaking to Germany’s motorsport-magazin.com Moser has been quoted as saying: “Nothing has changed since our last statement. We are continuing to focus on the WRC. Entering formula one is not an issue for us right now.”

Killjoy.
