Should Volvo go after the Germans?

Cvhris Harris drives the Volvo S60 Polestar

Cast your mind back to the middle of last year, when Volvo announced its 508hp S60 Polestar. You were probably thinking to yourself, I wonder what that would be like to drive. Well, in this relatively brief clip from Chris Harris we find out.

Kind of.

Conditions were a bit too extreme, insfoar as there was snow all over the place, for a truly objective test, but it looks like Chris had fun anyway. Which is why he also thrashed around in a Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG for good measure.

Proving even the best are not immune to simple errors the S60 is powered by an inline six cylinder engine, and a massive blowdryer, not a V6 as noted in the clip. Pretty sure we can all forgive him on that one.

Anyway, since the original release of the details Volvo has said they will make six of these S60 Polestar jobbies. If you have £200K (approx AU$300K) you can get your hands on one. Yikes!

I don’t get why Chris Harris is so popular, he can’t even get it right that Volvo don’t make a V6! He is supposed to be a “gun” in his field. I have not yet been impressed by any review he has done.
But, thanks AusMotive for reminding me how good this car is. Love it, and ready to become a Bloody Volvo Driver for that car!

have to agree this particular review was very light on. Plus the V6 remarks would be embarrassing for him when he eventually gets corrected. Usually i find his reviews excellent (in particular the Singer 911 one). Certainly no doubting his driving talents

Priced right I would seriously consider the ovlov, seriously.

Loved that shot with the C63 power sliding past the Volvo in the background, awesomeness.

Harris may not get the execution 100% right, the concept of TV styled reviews purpose made for Youtube is definitely a winner. Top Gear is good, but using 3 door hatchbacks for sports gets a bit old.

Embrace the medium and the likes of Harris will improve on execution…
