Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG lights my fire

Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG

This flaming Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG has put the hot into hot hatch. The smoking Benz erupted into flames shortly after another motorist noticed smoke coming from the bonnet area and suggested the driver pull over.

Details are thin on the ground at this stage but thankfully the driver was able to escape without injury. Fire crews were soon at the scene to extinguish the blaze.

According to NSW Police the cause of the fire was a “mechanical fault”. We’ll endeavour to find out more and if we do we’ll let you know.

UPDATE Monday 4 August: AUSmotive contacted Mercedes-Benz Australia Pacific for comment this morning. Spokesman David McCarthy replied promptly saying: “Until we have investigated the incident we are not able to comment.” He also said, they are “very keen to know the cause”.

LOL, wait 12 months+ for a hot hatch and then it roasts its engine! Not happy Fritz!!!

Not happy at all… That was my car!! After waiting so long for it my bf almost dies on the way to getting it washed!!!!

Wow, when I first saw the pick I thought it was the clown who drives one in the exact same spec with the same options and colour here in the Marrickville area. The gooba spends all his money on his A45 and still lives with his parents. But looking at the number plate (which is different) it seems there is another gooba in Sydney with the same awful taste putting on those silly wings on the A45. Anyway it’s a shame to see they are catching on fire too now. I guess all the high boost and heat under that cramped bonnet has to go somewhere. Something has to give and it seems like the A45 are going to start going up in flames. The really scary thing is this has happened in the middle of winter. Imagine when summer hits, our fire brigades will be busy putting out A45 fires lol.
