After mistiming his qualifying run at the Monaco Grand Prix, the last thing Lewis Hamilton wanted in his pursuit of championship leader Sebastian Vettel was an untidy race. Well, sadly for Lewis, who started back in seventh place, an untidy race is exactly what he got. It involved a drive through penalty for contact with Felipe Massa and a 20-second time penalty after contact with Pastor Maldonado, which ultimately ended the Venezuelan’s race.
Speaking to the BBC after the race Lewis Hamilton made these rather outlandish comments which will surely land him in further hot water.

Yeah, hard to know if he was taking the piss, or being deadly serious. His stupid beard and sunnies certainly don’t help his credibility anyway. Or maybe I’m just too old, haha.
He was obviously taking the piss. Just annoyed and clearly unsure why he keeps being brought before the stewards. I can see his point about trying to make things interesting, but he was a tad naive at Monaco if he thought his moves on Massa and Maldonado were fair.

Hamilton needs to go to NASCAR with that kind of driving. They will tolerate it, but the flip side is he’ll have to face it from his rivals as well.
Ha ha mark! All in all I believe he is great for the sport yet its a shame that they really do put a cap on anything exciting happening these days. Too much OH&S possibly lol. Oh and Liam I agree that beard is way too rap star

Out of all his comments, the surprising thing with his rant is that he doesn’t actually think he’s done anything wrong. He punted Maldonando off the track. To put it into perspective, Williams haven’t scored a point up until Monaco, Maldonado was sitting in 6th place at the time, and Hamilton, in his effort to “make things interesting” drop kicks him off the circuit. There was no respect, no thought of anyone else but himself. He’d be better on MTV with that kind of attitude.
