A recent screen grab from the Audi parts catalogue ‘ETKA’ lists a 184kW/250PS Audi A1 quattro. Let’s assume for a moment that the listing is 100% accurate; that’s quite a lot of power for a little A1.
Best guesses would say that any such engine would be found wearing an S1 or RS1 badge. We reckon 184kW would be around the mark for an RS1. Any more than that and it’d start chewing into S3 territory. Expect an S1, should Audi make it, to have an engine spec more like a Golf GTI at 155kW.
We may not know for a while if this rumour is correct, but we very much like what we’re hearing.

If it’s AWD + 6 speed manual + 184+kw’s then where do I sign?
That would be a pretty nice package. Although I can’t see a 6sp manual being used. Looks like S tronic/DSG is the way of the future for Audi.
Please Audi, make it in the 5 door! Btw Lima, I reckon 185kw could be the S1!
That seems too high to me, but I kinda hope you are right! 😛
Haha it’s just wishful thinking on my part.
As an S1 it would be excellent kw’s but where would they go for an RS? Noting where an RS3 is at there isn’t much room for a small and no doubt lighter car like this with 200+kw in their range. It would smash the RS3 and probably the TTRS, ah f’ it ….do it Audi, it would be hilarious!
