2015 Porsche Cayman GT4 says hello

Porsche Cayman GT4 prototype

The Porsche Cayman GT4 has been spotted testing again. We can’t give you a lot of detail, other than to say this model will be to the Cayman range what the GT3 is to the 911 range. Interesting that it’ll wear a GT4 badge, though.

And actually, with the expected improvements to handling (revised suspension), peak power (360–400hp) and a few kilos (15–50kg) shaved off its overall weight this will probably be all the Porsche you’ll ever need.

Yes, of course, the 911 will always be the icon, but these Caymans are already very bloody good. Making it better still, in pure driving terms, well, colour us interested!

GT4 = add a roll cage and you’re ready to enter races run to FIA GT4 regulations? Or could it be that they are still battling with the problem that if they made the Cayman as good as it could be it would eclipse the 911 range?

That was the original intent of the 911 GT2 and 911 GT3 in the 1990s before the GT3 turned into just another model in the 911 range.

Hilarious Dave, are you kidding me? Have you even driven the latest 991 GT3 and compared it to a GT3 from the 90’s? Dude WTF are you smoking, pass the bong!

The current GT3 is by all accounts by the experts who actually drive and review these cars against the best sports cars in the world has been rated not only The BEST GT3 ever but one of the best sports cars money can buy period!

WTF do you want Dave? Porsche to sell a GT3 with straight cut gears, no carpet in the car, roll cages all over the place and drink bottles with perspex windscreens?

They sell a race car for that which competes in the FIA LM GTE class against other makes who race similar cars. Not one of the makes race a car which is sold for road registration anywhere. What do you want Porsche to do to satisfy your ridiculous comments? Race a street car (which is what the GT3 is) against totally dialled in race cars?

And this nonsense about the Cayman being better than a 911 is totally BS!!!! A Cayman might be easier to drive but in the hands of someone with talent the 911 will cut quicker laps time each and every time. Every time I see a Cayman I see a pretender who wishes he could afford a 911 but couldn’t! That’s a Cayman!

Next time Porsche are advertising for an engineer you should apply, because according to you they’ve gone totally backwards since the 90’s and the GT# is just another 911. F’n hilarious!!!!
