The Holy Trinity

Chris Harris tests the McLaren P1, LaFerrari and Porsche 918

In the name of the P1, the 918 and the holy LaFerrari.

It’s the video we’d all been waiting for. After a bit over two weeks it’s racked up more than 1.2 million views. It’s Chris Harris in three of the most desirable cars ever made.

At almost one hour long the recipe couldn’t get any better. Throw in an empty and excellent Portimao racetrack and, well, yeah, the recipe does get better. And this video is great viewing, it really is.

But is it as good as you were hoping?

Mercedes-Benz Motor Shows Video

“It’s a proper AMG”

Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG

Chris Harris interrupts the bad news from Volkswagen to take for a spin in the updated and softer Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG. Don’t worry, that’s softer in a good way, as he explains.

You lot obviously don’t watch Harris’ motor show videos enough so he has spliced his A45 review in among his walk around the Frankfurt Motor Show.

Who knew rhubarb and custard drove so well?!

Bugatti EB110 SS

When I was a young lad my lovely grandmother introduced me to the delights of rhubarb and custard. And now, some decades later, Chris Harris has given me a whole new appreciation.

I always thought the Bugatti EB110 was a bit fugly and so it never really resonated with me; I was too busy going gaga over F40s and McLaren F1s.

Turns out I might have missed a pretty special boat. But at least I’ll always have my granny’s dessert.

Aston Martin Vantage GT12

Chris Harris has already driven the Aston Martin Vantage GT12 in full race mode and now we have his review of the GT12 road car.

Pro tip: turn up the volume to 11!

Ford Video

“The Mustang is a happy car”

Chris Harris drives the Ford Mustang GT

When Chris Harris posts up a new video a lot of eyeballs will watch it. This is mostly because he’s very good at what he does. First and foremost he knows what he’s doing behind a steering wheel. He keeps the hoons happy with a bit of sideways action. He keeps the tech guys happy with great details.

With that said and despite Harris’ best efforts the Mustang holds no appeal to me at all. In this clip Chris spends a lot of time criticising aspects of the car and then loves it. I kind of understand what he means when he says, “the Mustang is a happy car”. And I also get that a car can be greater than the sum of its parts.

But I just can’t help thinking the best a Mustang could hope to be is a quick and sordid affair. For me, it could never be a long term relationship.

So, yeah, Chris Harris has a lot of influence in the car land. He even got me to watch 10 minutes of Mustang GT. Unless I’m watching Bullitt by chance, that’ll do me for another few years.

“It just feels like a slightly baby P1”

McLaren 675LT

This is the first video Chris Harris has given us in the new McLaren 675LT. In case you’ve forgotten the 675LT is the go fast(er) version of the 650S. It weighs 100kg less and has an extra 25 horsepower.

Harris hopes to get his backside back into a 675LT at a later date so that he can give us some more extensive thoughts other than “It’s fast!”

Chris Harris does the Nürburgring 24 Hour

Chris Harris, Aston Martin GT12, 2015 Nurburgring 24 hour race

Chris Harris and his cameraman Neil Carey take us deep into the world of the 2015 Nürburgring 24 Hour race. The star of the show is the production-based Aston Martin GT12.

“Watching a car being driven fast around here is one of the great spectator experiences,” claims Harris.

I believe him.

I’m yet to watch an N24, but I have seen cars be tested within an inch of their life during Industry Pool sessions. It is a pleasure to watch. Witnessing a grid full of GT3 cars fighting for every inch of tarmac would be awe inspiring.

Enjoy this clip. It’s a good one. And how awesome does that GT12 sound!

“It’s outrageous how fast it is!”

Ferrari 488 GTB

Chris Harris has been let loose behind the wheel of the stunning new Ferrari 488 GTB and we’re all the better for it. Watch as Harris talks us though the finer points of the 488 and marvel at how good that turbocharged engine must be. We’re very jel.

“The want is strong with this one”

Porsche 911 GT3 RS

Chris Harris in the new 911 GT3 RS. He wants it. You want it. We all want it!

If this video is not enough you can also read Harris’ words right HERE.

You can pick your nose while drifting!

Mercedes-AMG C63S

Just over a month ago Chris Harris gave us his take on the new Mercedes-AMG C63S. We’re not sure how we missed it, but we’re sorry we did.

It’s Harris by numbers, but they’re numbers that work so well. We’re presented with an in depth look at the car, including the interesting bits under the skin.

Respect to the viewing audience is paid by the length of the video. At a touch over 20 minutes it’s not too long. More importantly, it’s long enough to give us a proper sense of the car.

And, of course, with 375kW/700Nm to play with from the 4.0 litre twin turbo V8 engine it’s pretty easy to make the new C63 go sideways. So easy in fact, you can pick a winner while doing it.

The green shitter

Chris Harris' classic 911

Remember Drivers Republic? That’s when Chris Harris first published this video about his old skool 911. It was a cobbled together masterpiece, constructed by the expert hand of Richard Tuthill.

Harris described this as his perfect sportscar. Even though that comment was made some seven or eight years ago, that’s still some claim.

“This thing is a riot!”

Chris Harris on the Porsche Cayman GT4

I really want a Cayman GT4. Watch this video from Chris Harris and you will too.

Not much more needs to be said.
